Ramcat broadheads

Anyone have any experience with these? What's your opinion? Good or bad.

My old reliable Muzzys will not fly with these new victory arrows and blazer vanes.

After much hype from my LAS, I considered Ramcat. Ramcat blades pivot so they can angle toward their tip and cut w the back edges, should the broadhead fail to penetrate. I decided to stay w fixed-blade heads after reading much discussion in this forum RE fixed vs mechanical.

ramcats are really good heads, they fly really well, thru a properly tuned bow they hit with field points to 60 plus yds, they are kind of a hybrid between fixed and expandable. the blades pivot forwards and backwards on a 1/16 allen bolt in order to cut back or on the way out. this becomes very frustrating if you hit a blade taking it out of quiver then you have a loose blade flopping in the wind overtighten and risk stripping the head or loose the backcut pivot. also the blades seemed flimsy and easy to dull. very affordable replacement blades tho. having said all that i killed three whitetail with them and did get a pass thru on a offside shoulder with the head buried in the ground another 6 inches so penetration is above average. all blood trails were extrordinary too, fly great but less durable than what i want for back country elk. shooting exodus now

They fly great, I just haven't shot anything with it yet except for a target. You do have to re-tighten the screws after each shot, you'll hear and feel a click when it's tight. The blades are sharp, my idiot buddy from Scotland didn't listen to me when I told him not to touch them. He nicked his finger pretty good on the underside of the blade. He didn't think that part was sharp.

I absolutly LOVE my Ramcats. I shot the Mulie in my avitar pic with them. slightly quartering towards me at 25 yards and it totally devistated his insides with a complete passthru. his liver looked like stirred up jelly. he fell within 30 yards and stone dead when he hit the dirt. I have several friends that have used them on Elk and they all love the results. they fly exactaly like my field points out to 70 Yards with no problems.
