Exo mountian 3500 pack

Postby Heartwood » 03 24, 2015 •  [Post 1]

I picked up an exo 3500 pack last week and have been testing it out. So far it is much more comfortable than my old pack. I have packed my usual bivy load and it feels like a day pack load. With an elk quarter weight it seems great also. I don't plan on packing half an elk as Elknut does but i'm sure it would be great with those 100# + loads also. Looks like a very well thought out and designed pack, just adapting to the different layout. Also, this pack is great for packing meat because the load slips in behind the bag where it is close to your back and gear remains in the bag. Multiple compression straps allow for rock solid secure loads. So far it is as good as others have said. Don't think I'll need a new pack for a long time!

Nice review Matt! It is a very good pack for sure! Have you played with the up & down adjustment with the bag as it slides on the frame once loaded? That's a huge aspect of this pack, it's so easy to do, plus simple! (grin) Thanks!

Good to hear. I'm on the waiting list for one, primarily based on what I've read here on this site.
