Badland 2200

Ebay, just had a Badland 2200 pack go for 122.50 plus 15 S&H. Did I just screw up a good deal? It had some blood stain, and some ware and tare. The picture looked good. I need to do some research on packs, or anything before I can't make a fast decision especially when there is money involved.
Looking for a new pack. We walk in from base camp for almost 2 hours before we start hunting, So lite is very good. I have never spike camp and don't think I every well. But if the day ever comes that I shot one, it sure would be nice to haul a part of it back to get the frame packs. that would save me 5-10 miles of walking.

Not necessarily. The original was awesome. But they are hard to find. The second model sucked. My guess is that's the one it was. Terrible layout. Waist band was for sumo wrestlers only. And heavy. The new and current model is a dream. Killer layout and much lighter. But I doubt it was that one. The only question you need to ask about a 2200 is what year model is it. Or... is it the original, 2nd, or current model.

I had a 2800 the true original. Gave it away to a complete stranger. My main gripe. The bag would feel so different depending on how it was stuffed. Huge difference. Enough I had to adjust everything.

It carried my turkey blind beautifully and I'm sure I will miss it this spring.

I've packed a bunch of elk meat with the 2200, and with fairly heavy loads too. My profile pic is the 2200 loaded with a deboned hind quarter and antlers with all my day use gear.
I used the original and a newer version (not sure which newer version). My only complaint was it was heavy and made my back sweat a lot.

The badlands 2200 is an un-derated pack, it's tough as nails & call haul elk quarters with no issues. It's not the most comfortable pack loaded down with a 100# + but it will easily hold up to that & heavier loads! If you are a good sufferer it will perform!

Elk Addict... the new model took a bunch of steps in the right direction. It actually has about 2800 c.i. of space with the added external pockets and a WAY better layout. On top of that they used a new material for the padding and reduced the weight by 20%.
