Digiscoping with IPhone or point and shoot.

1 question. For you guys using a I-phone or point and shoot camera what setting do you use to get good pics at max zoom on the spotting scope? (Telemacro, HDR, ect) I had a deer almost 2 miles away. (Pics in the deer section) I could easily count points but couldn't get any good pictures. Any one have pointers? I have an adapter for the I phone but not one for the point and shoot. I thought the iPhone would take better pics.
