my bow. it just fits.

as you all know (i talk about it enough ). i bought a new Elite Energy35. just wanted to give a longer axle to axle bow a crack at the title. i chose the bow because it draws easy for me, and holds easy. but more importantly, i can let it down without giving myself a hernia or aneurism. another new thing..i went with a 3-pin with a slider.

my MBG slider doenst have huge range of motion, and with my slow bow, i can only fit a 100 yard point at the very end of the lower stop. i dont know how guys have a 120 yard point.

i work more now, and i focus on fitness ALOT..so my shooting times are diminished. but everytime i pick my bow up..it just fits. my anchor is perfect everytime. Paul's recent thread JINXED me, because my peep seemed to have overrotated...haha..never happened before to me, but i need to take a half twist OUT..i'll check it today.

but my boss called yesterday and called off my swing shift. i high fived myself and grabbed my bow. my wife said the most horrific words."i wanna go, and let's bring the dog"..i rallied out of love and chose a bow range we have to hike to. about a mile in. members get gates keys so they can drive in. (i might join).

we hike in. about half way, my senior citizen dog starts wheezing. it was about 100 degrees..and uphill. i bent over and carried the guy the rest of the way. i had my pack loaded with sandbag to about 40 lbs..and i hung my bowcase from it awkwardly.

i get there, and i knew my wife attention span was short..and the mosquitos were out. i shot fast..60 yarders..nothing too special. didnt miss. all dead elk shots easy. walking out, i see it...a lone target waaaaayyyyy out there. i ask a few guys, what that was..they said that was 100. WHY NOT?

i move my pin and let an arrow fly. some kid with big binos said i hit the bulls. i jogged up the hill and yup..yank the arrow out of the center. my wife looks and says, "you think that was a fluke?"

dont know..so i just started flinging them. my groups were decent..nothing missed..i had a few wonderful 6" groups..in the middle. this is a pic of my average work...low a bit, cuz i kept wanting to drop my bow arm to watch the arrows fly. if i paid attention to my trigger finger, things click. i have a BAD habit of putting my thumb on the release shaft, and pinching it..instead of using back tension to release the arrow.

so much fun shooting 100. never done it before. going back to 60 almost makes you giggle.

I feel,the same about my Elite Energy 32', much more accurate than I am and it makes up for my flaws, very forgiving.

Most accurate bow I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few. Part of it is that the draw length seems prefect, just feels right. Like many others, I shot too long of a draw length for many years, now that I have it shortened up, my accuracy has improved a lot.
