broadheads for recurve shooter

I shoot a 57 # recurve and have used the original Woodsman three blade 1150 grain screw in broadheads on full length (32.5") Grizzlystik Classic carbon shafts. This set up has worked well on whitetails. I need to order another dozen shafts and am considering switching to Easton Axis FMJ or Easton Axis Traditional. Thinking the somewhat lighter weight might extend my effective shooting distance form 25 to 35 yards. Also, considering switching to a Slick Trick or other "sharp put of the box" broadhead. Any of you other traditional shooters have suggestions on a 15 grain or better
broadhead that comes hunting sharp. Don't mind resharpening but would like a broadhead that is shaving sharp to begin with.

Certainly nothing wrong with your WW's. Most recommend cut on contact heads, Magnus Stingers and Muzzy Phantoms would be great. Thunderheads are very sharp out of the box, and have been used to take elk with stick bows as well as regular Muzzy's and the Slick Tricks you mentioned.

Tyler, we've taken a few bulls with trad gear. A Slick Trick head such as the standard or viper trick will do the job no problem! Have your arrow in the 9-10 grn per lb of draw wt & you'll do great with those heads. Slick Trick heads come amazingly sharp out of the package so no issues there! With that being said we've taken a couple nice herd bulls with the newer Woodsman Elite 125 grn heads, they are not sharp out of the package so you must know how to hand sharpen them to a razors edge, it's not tough to do but is required on any Woodsman head!

On arrow choice & with full length arrows at 57# you will most likely need a 400 spine arrow. This will carry 225grns of head wt upfront if so desired, that takes in both broadhead & insert. Arrow choice is in the air, both will do the job with correct spine & length! Feel free to ask any additional questions!

Thanks everyone. I have been considering the new Woodsman even though they are a little pricy. Given they are on sale right now I might go that route. No problem sharpening as I have been using the original version which is not even billed as sharp. Thinking of going to the Easton and FMJ's and just give my Grizzlystiks to my two sons. The full length FMJ's with a 150 grain Woodsman Elite should be plenty of weight. Thanks for the replies.

When I went from the old style ones to "newer" one I went with steel force, great blades, lifetime sharpening You pay shipping.

Thanks Dan for the Steel Force suggestion. I was just looking at the 125 grain Phathead. It looks good. Are the Steel Force blades shaving sharp right out of the box? How does the lifetime sharpening work?

Yes they are ready to go out of the box. For the free sharpening you send them back to manufacturer and they ship them back in about 2-3 weeks, sometimes shorter.If you get the style with bleeder blades they replace them for free.

What would be a better choice for a lower poundage (high 40s-low 50s) long bow, 2 blade or 3 blade braodhead?

Two will always penetrate better. At lower poundage it will be even more important. We all shoot stingers: sharp, great fliers, easy to sharpen and a lifetime guarentee.
