USA made Danner's?

Does anyone have experience with the USA made Danners? I'm looking at ridgemasters,east ridge, hood winter and similar styles. Uninsulated up to 400 grams.

I've got a pair of Grouse 400g with the bob sole and I love them. Probably 10yrs old and still as solid as the day I bought them

I tried the hood lights. Super comfy. The new hiking boot is almost the most comfy boot I have ever tried. I just couldn't drop the coin. The USA boots are really nice.

Danner makes a great boot but you're definitely on the right track.... stay away from those foreign made models such as Pronghorns.

I have worn Danner's 40 hours a week for the last 19 years. My last pair of Danner Acadia's lasted 3 years. I just upgraded to Danner Ft Lewis about 3 weeks ago. Loving them so far. You can send your old Danner's back to Danner and have them resoled.

I just ordered a pair of Hood Winter lights 200gram from STP for $170. I thought that was cheap enough for a USA made boot. I had a nice coupon. Once they actually arrive I will post up a review. Thanks for the input guys.

Not all of them. Only the ones with the stitched in soles.

I also find resoled boots not very comfy. It is so odd having perfectly "Plumb" soles mounted on my crooked and warped uppers. My feet just don't work like that.

The Hood Winters made it in and my first impression is they are a good boot. They are not too heavy,very comfortable with the supplied orthotics,and give ok support. The soles are stiff buti can still feel stuff under them. The uppers may be too soft for mountain hunting /sidehilling. I don't know that you could ask for a better midwest all around hunting boot but only time and pack miles will tell if they will make the trip to Colorado. I did notice how comfortable they are right out of the box. I always have trouble finding boots. I wear size 11.5 double H boots. Size 13 tennis shoes and size 12 ee in justin work boots. The size 13 d danners were a good fit for me.

I have had 2 pairs of Danner MFX that cost about $150 and I imagine are not American made. I only spend a couple weeks per year in the mountains and only use them for elk hunting. They have been comfortable from the first day and I have never had sore feet or blisters.

But, if the the American made Danners are better I would like to try a pair, depending on cost. Can anyone share the cost of Amercian made ones?

I got my Danners on sale for $170 with a coupon from sierra trading post. Bass pro has the ridgemaster which are USA made prongorns for 199 in the spring catalog. My danners were originally 320 and the ridgemasters are around 220 if you look around on the net.
