Martin Bows?

So this year I decided to upgrade and get a new bow since mine was 10 years old and has seen better days. Starting out I was pretty set on a Bowtech because I have shot a few of my friends and really liked them. One of my neighbors has his own small archery shop so I wen to him first. He only deals PSE, Diamond, and Martin. To make a long story short after shooting a Martin Alien at his place and taking a look at a bunch of others in the City I ended up with the Martin. It really impressed me and fit me very well. I know that they Martin and the Ryterra name has had their issues but have read good things about them stepping up the past few years. Is anyone shooting a newer Martin and if so what pros and cons have you found?

the main pro is that cheerleader they have on staff that shoots for Martin. simply stunning.

Laura something. she chimes in on archery talk and the idiots just log on and start gushing. you get a calendar with that new bow? haha.

personally, i think all new bows are awesome. now all you have to do is find one that fits..and looks good to you.

I am a Martin dealer. Have been for 20+ years. Some of the best customer service as far as warrantee goes that I have dealt with. I think Martin is a great mid $ bow. They have made great strides in adjusablity (30#-70# and 7" draw length) My backup bow is a Silencer because I can adjust it to fit anybody I hunt with. I think Martin does a good job of having bows in a wide variety of prices ranges and cam/riser/limb configurations. Good Choice as far as I'm concerned.

My experience with Martin has been very good. I had one that had some foreign matter in the metal of the riser. It broke just a week before the season opened. The dealer loaned me a brand new Martin that was a very good shooter. I really liked it, but before the season opened a few days later, my Martin dealer had the riser replaced, and my bow was like new, so I had to give back the loaner.

Sounds like you paid $600 for a calendar and they threw in a bow

I shot martins years ago and they were great, I'm sure the new ones are as well. Enjoy, you got a good bow.

Thanks for all the replies. Good to hear about the customer service. I'm sure enjoying it so far WW. It finally looks like this fall I'd be able to spend more dedicated time on the mountain so I cashed in my points and should draw my first Branch Antlered bull tag ever! During my time away from home in the Marine Corps I just built up points and am finally cashing in. Toby I actually got the bow for $465 New in the box and no calendar so no temptations to deal with that way.

My dad and I both shoot 2013 Rytera nemesis 35s. Fantastic bows for the money.

I was a Martin Shooter for many years. They had some quality issues with limbs in recent years...and the business was recently bought out buy a kind of Corporate mogul dude that buys up small Companies in trouble.

They have pretty much scaled back to making recurves at this point...but I got to shoot one at NABA (a takedown bow)...and I really liked it.

The guys I talked to that were associated with the Company were great, I really think they are committed to making Customer satisfaction their number one priority as they build their Company back up again.

Got my dealer info last month. A nice selection of compounds again this year. Yes they have changed the business side a little but the product line including compounds is about the same.

My hunting bow is a 2010 Martin Crossfire, and backup bow is 2006 Martin P3. I love both. Martin did have some limb/quality issues, but it looks like they're back on track, and their customer service has been excellent. A limb on my Crossfire cracked on a Wednesday night; they FedExed new limbs to the local archery shop at no charge and my bow was ready to go by Friday.

How a bow feels is highly personal, but out of all the bow manufacturers, I like the draw cycle on the Martin bows the best.

And as for the cheerleader, she's with Strother Archery now. She's an awesome person, the real deal, and of course, beautiful. But I was personally relieved to see Martin move away from that type of advertising, especially if they want to reach the growing number of girls and women who bowhunt.
