well. my 2-weeks with my new bow.

you guys dont really know me. i never really ever climb up on a soapbox to sing praises for gear. (i do for good food and good restaurants and good people)..
for instance, my new Kifaru Backpack has about 3 trips on it, many miles..and it still feels just like a good backpack. nothing to "Rave" or gush about. the day i bring an elk out with it,that may change. (good or bad)

this particular Elite Energy 35 has me smiling. i ripped a bunch of arrow fletchings, and i just took my pocket knife and skinned the remainder off. shooting a bare shaft..the bow shoots them perfectly straight into the same bullseye. my backyard is not safe to fling an unguided arrow any further than that, so i didnt try. but i bet i can hit the bulls with a bare shaft at 30. just yesterday, i dumped out all my broadheads. Slicktrick 100 mag, montecs, and my Grim reapers. perfect bulls out to 30!! i am done broadhead tuning!! done. never did test the grim reapers..they always fly great.

i didnt go hunting yet, cuz my 40-80 pins havent been sighted in yet. i have NOT run the bow thru a chrono, tested cam sync in a drawboard, or measured DL yet. i dont think i will touch it,,but it could feasibly get better. it is faster than my Mathews Z7..i had to pull pin spacing together.

this bow is the best shooter i have ever owned. my Mathews SBXT shot well too! i am done bow shopping for a very long time. i just want to hunt now.

now that i am a more seasoned archer (shopper)..some tips.
1. never pay for a bow, unless the shop can show you it shoots. if it cannot papertune with the bow at spec, with an arrow in the middle of spine charts..walk away. i know papertuning is just the jumping off point for a full tune..
2. i dont care what bow manufacturer you go with..they all put out a lemon or two. make sure you dont have one of them. i can find several ELITE 35 threads with the owner pulling out their hair with mystery creaks, left tears, etc.

man, if i would have just stuck with those two simple things, i wouldnt have ever bought my last bow. the arrow never lined up with the stabilizer..haha..i had to do so much work on that thing. should have just kept my money and my switchback XT. it would have saved me some heartache for sure.

my boss just okayed my Wednesday day off. i am gonna run out to chase some wild hogs. i hope this bow is lucky. it shoots lucky. i hope i dont find a pig past 40..ha. my wife wants me to use that wednesday to drop my old bow off at bowshop for consignment. dunno..i could use the money for a new bow sight. digging the Blackgold 3 pin with slider.

What string came on it?
I dont care what anyone says, ALL strings will stretch, [some more than others] and when they do, you start having some shooting issues, that would be the first place I would start tuning again.

I think Elite bows bought Winners choice. The strings are OEM now on the new bows.

Man doesnt it feel GREAT when you finally find "The One" for you? I went through a bunch of bows a few years ago, Darton 3800, Darton 3500, Pse Evo, Martin Onza 3, Rytera Alien X, Martin Pantera, and those were just the ones I actually owned in a 1 year stretch. I tried out all the flagship bows that year and ended up with a Bowtech Invasion. The last bow I thought I would own again was a Bowtech but lo and behold that short, light, beauty, shoots like a dream in my hands. Thats the only bow I have had now for 3 years. I get an itch for something new every now and again but I realize there is no need. That one does exactly what I need and I am set for sometime to come. Congratulations it sounds like you have found yours.

i as well went with Elite. i went with a 2013 elite hunter. very smooth-quiet-forgiving-and vibration free. best shooting bow ive personally shot in a very long time.

I had a 2011 and a 2012 Elite Hunter, both great hunting bows.
