GoLite . . . ?

Anybody use any GoLite gear? I'm looking at buying their Z10 sleeping bag in 850 down. Looks like a nice bag, but I don't know much about their gear. It all seems like quality stuff, but I don't know their "Name" like I do Marmot, Mt Hardware, North Face, etc.

I've used their tents(utopia) and bags (adrenaline) and they are very very good quality. I was looking at the same bags as you, however, ended up going with a Marmot Helium. I would have bought the Golite except, I needed/wanted more room and the Helium is a little wider. If the foot/shoulder area on the bag fits you, get it and don't look back. BTW, great company/customer service.

GoLite is top notch gear, but I have only bought their clothing so far. Many people in CO buy their stuff. They have stores here since they started in Boulder.

Signup for their emails and you will sometimes get the stuff cheaper. They most recently pulled out of most retail stores (REI longer sells their items). They mostly now offer their stuff direct to consumer at cheaper prices.

I have gotten things at 60% off retail by following their weekly/biweekly emails. Their merino wool is cheaper than other brands. I got lightweight merino wool at 60% off in the Spring. I do not use their merino wool for hunting, but I do use it for hiking.

The one listed above, the Z10 with 850 down. It's been written up in backpacker.com as the warmest bag from 2013. Looks good to me.

I need to get into it at the store to make sure it's going to fit me, but I don't think I'll have any issues.

Yowsers. That's quite a price for a 10º bag. And I see they are sold out.

My friend Jerry, the founder of Wiggy's, makes some awesome sleeping bags for a fraction of the price. I have Superlight Camo 0º bag that was way too hot, in a really good way, when we camped at 9,300 ft this week for a few days in the Colorado backcountry. It got down to the mid 20's or so and I slept like a baby.

Plus, our own US military uses his bags and they are made in my home state of Colorado. I love supporting quality local products.

Out of stock . . . maybe if you have to order it. Boise has a GoLite store downtown.

I'll check out Wiggy's. Again, I'm hesitant to buy anything that I haven't heard of before. Other than you, I don't think I have ever heard mention of Wiggy's.

Wiggys will not be near as lite as golite. It's typical for golite to be out of stock, as they sell direct and through their stores.

That's what I thought at first. Then I researched. And researched some more.

Most of my gear is ultra light so a couple more pounds did not bother me.

For the money and super high quality, I love my zero degree Wiggy's sleeping bag. Best money I spent in a while.

Wifey and 16 mo-old Son got me the GoLite Z10 for a Father's Day gift. Can't wait for next weekend to try it out. I'm probably going to be more than just a little warm.

Golite will blast you with emails the day after you order. I was getting one a day! I had to call them to stop it. Info like their stuff. My tent is super light.

This bag is HOT. I was sweating all night. I would have just opened it up and slept on top of it except the mosquitos were trying to carry me away. Can't wait to see how this bag does on November hunts when it's co . . c . . . co . . . . coco . . . . COLD!
