Heading to the turkey woods

Postby 8upbowhunter » 04 04, 2014 •  [Post 1]

My son and I are headed to camp today for 6 days of turkey hunting. The weather will pretty much suck for the first 4 days with a high chance of rain but we plan to stick it out daylight to dark each day unless there is lightning. Then Thursday evening we are headed to north central Arkansas to pick up a Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy that he is buying. Here is a picture of the litter, 5 males and 6 females (he is getting a male).

Well after a long day we only saw a few hens but I did manage to call this rascal in and my son smoked him at 20 yards.

We finally made it home with his puppy. I must say that Gunner is a fine looking puppy too. He is 7-1/2 weeks old and weighs 19.5# and has huge feet so he is going to be a big boy! Here is a picture of Kerry and Gunner when we picked him up.
