Gettin' it done

After watching a big gobbler through the spotting scope from my porch Tuesday evening, I decided I should make a move on him the following morning. It didn't go as planned, or as easy as I thought it would, and ended up calling in 2 jakes dropping this one at 13 yards. Would have used the bow, but I wanted to get one using my grandfathers old Remington model 11. If the birds don't come to you at first, don't be afraid to move in on them.

Nice work....spot and stalk (or "spot and ambush") is a much less boring way to hunt ;)

Great bird, congrats!

I'm headed to the turkey woods in the am for short bit! Will have 2 new Avian-X decs to test out!
